Day 8

This morning Jack woke up at 3am in a very chilly room in the Cessna Hotel. Guess the temperature went below the 2 degrees as was predicted!

What you see on the windshield is frost! Was on the wings as well.  Had to get some quick defrosting going as he had filed a flight plan and needed to get across the border by a certain time. Todays customs stop was much more pleasant than yesterday and he was told to enjoy his stay in Alaska.

From Jack, "Alaska has big mountains, big glaciers and big spaces" The trees color change are quite beautiful.

Tonight Jack is at a B&B in Palmer.  He said it is amazing how all the folks in the Alaska  flight services are so helpful. He said when you first call they are all business but when he asks a few questions they give him lots of friends and family info =)

The Alaska State fair is happening up there this weekend and lots of people fly in for the event. The skies will be busy tomorrow when they all leave.

Tomorrow Jack hopes to make it to Lake Hood which is just outside of Anchorage.

Have a good sleep in a real bed tonight and as you said "You won't have to make it afterwards either!"

Maybe getting a bit to old to be roughing it Captain Jack??
