Day 6 & 7

Sorry folks my dance card was very full yesterday and by the time I got home I was a bit tired and forgot to update you.

Day 6  Friday

Friday was spent in Whitehorse with Sean, getting the Apple products all cleaned up and updated.  I can just hear Sean saying" Jack....Jack.... you really should....."

Day 7  Saturday

Today Jack left Whitehorse. This is his message to me that he has left. The "SPOT" is on the move, left Whitehorse headed for Alaska. He was going to have to land at the first  US customs airport that was on his route.

The weather was not great and on a few occasions he thought of turning back. But of course, not one to be defeated by a bit of rain, he carried on. "Maybe over the next rise the weather will be better" he kept telling himself.
Sure does not look like anything I would want to be in, not this flight attendant!!!

Eventually it did clear up a bit and he was able to see the changing of the seasons. The leaves had changed color already.

So before leaving the comforts of home he had to get himself a new shot gun should he ever be in a situation where he would be confronted with a dangerous animal, i.e grizzly. He had taken a gun across to Michigan last summer and knew there was paperwork involved in the process. What he did not know was the paperwork had changed!
The first customs airport that was on his route was Northway Junction.  So there he was in Northway with an illegal gun which they said either destroy or go back and leave it in Canada. Well he wasn't going to destroy a gun he just bought, so back into Canada he came.

So this next bit is only something that would fit into a Jack story. He is making a series of phone calls from the Yukon information Centre in Beaver Creek, which was the closest Canadian airport, asking around how he could get his gun mailed back to him here at home....from one contact to another he finally finds a couple that had a note up saying they were heading to Whitehorse and did someone need a ride. Well he did not have someone but he did have something so now the gun will be delivered to Sean in Whitehorse....only Jack could pull that off =) You will have to ask him about how he got his jetski home the time he got stuck in Queen Charlotte City  due to bad weather. It is an interesting story too.

So tonight Jack will be sleeping in his little Cessna Hotel room 172 in Beaver Creek Yukon where the temperature tonight will be 2 degrees. Hope you are snuggled in nice and warm tonight Captain Jack!
