Today, while at 100 Mile Airport, the day was spent making the plane ready to travel.
Jack's home on wings for the next few weeks. Now what does a bush pilot take on an around Alaska trip?
Light, comfy chair with pop up table and when the extra cross piece is added it becomes the ladder to enable adding fuel. |
Back and right seat are out and supplies go in.
The Captains seat is nicely covered with a soft sheepskin for those long butt numbing flying days.
|
Some extra fuel although not quite as critical as those long distance across the NWT. |
So if the weather cooperates tomorrow Jack will fly to the Scoop Lake Lodge.
This out of the way lodge was recommended by another flying adventurer.
Check it out scooplake.com
For those of you who know how Jack can sometimes cut corners.... well...... he may do that too when driving on the highway with no one in sight....saves time don't you know not having to take those sharp corners but rather go in a straight line, even if it means you are on the wrong side!!! And of course the conversation went from the merits of the 3 cylinder airport car to flying etc etc. There is never a shortage of stories to tell...doesn't matter who Jack talks to...RCMP or otherwise! Keep making those good stories Captain Jack! |
And of course some reconstituted dried food to which one must add kippers or sardines for flavour! |
